Six of the eleven books were written by women.
The following is a list of authors that I understand to be women:
Gwendolyn Brooks
Sylvia Plath
Sigrid Undset (for thee books in the summer)
Sappho
Additionally, "The Book of Ruth" from the Bible is about a woman;
and
The translator of the book by Sappho is a woman, Anne Carson;
and
one more noteworthy item is that Gwendolyn Brooks (1917-2000) is African-American.

I'm expecting good attendance of women to our group's meetings during the year 2016.
